Our story

 

 

Jayva was set up in 2014 out of founder Nicola Moore-Miller’s passion for helping small and medium-sized law firms with their technology adoption while achieving outstanding financial performance and regulatory compliance too.

Back then, Nicola had reached a turning point in her life. Following the birth of her second child, and after reassessing her ambitions and priorities, Nicola decided to branch out from her technology supplier roots by getting more creative and launching her own business.

The entrepreneurial idea was spawned by developing a deep understanding of the requirements of different law firms throughout her lengthy career, and helping legal service providers to embrace technology, invest in their people, realign their data and fine tune their processes to create amazing outcomes.

The magic happened… Jayva was born. Services encompass project management, legal accounting consultancy and training.

 

Along the way


 

The timing of Jayva’s establishment couldn’t have been better. The shift to cloud technology was taking the legal sector by storm. Nicola was able to reach out to former connections who shared the same knowledge, experience and aspirations as herself. With so much in common, they also shared the same values. The recruitment of the Jayva team was underway with selection based on mutual respect and appreciation.

Our team is the reason for our success. We recruit carefully, celebrate achievements and revere every single staff member. This same team has worked tirelessly to grow our business in the intervening years, and the core Jayva values and mission remain, these being: inspiring law firms to adapt, harness technology and thrive; developing strong relationships with the businesses we work with; and operating with honesty, openness and integrity always.

In 2018, Jayva expanded into America as Jayva US Inc. initially in the New England states only. Continued growth led to further expansion into the Mid Atlantic region of America in 2021 with the aptly named sister company Jayva MidAtlantic LLC. Now, we’ve delivered legal software implementation to 26 states in America, as well many other countries such as Israel, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, Scotland and Jamaica, to name a few.

As part of a renewed focus on collaboration and sharing, we embarked on our consolidation later in 2021. The decision was made to amalgamate these three separate teams - Jayva UK Ltd, Jayva US Inc. and Jayva MidAtlantic LLC - into a single global business unit called Jayva Global.

In 2022, we opened a base in Ireland to offer a combination of on site and remote training for clients in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. In 2023, we launched into New Zealand, supplying certified consultancy services to clients of LEAP Legal Software in the country.

Jayva as you know it

Now, we employ and contract 25 people internationally, with our team members based in England, Scotland, Spain, Ireland, America and New Zealand. We have office bases in Manchester and Cumbria in the UK, Hingham and Boston in the USA, Dublin in Ireland and Auckland in New Zealand. Our employees have the flexibility to work from these multiple office locations or from home. Everything we do can be performed entirely remotely.

Why Jayva?


 

A question we’re often asked is ‘where does the Jayva name come from?’ Quite simply, it’s the names of Nicola’s children, Jake and Eva, joined together with a ‘y’ in the middle - because they’re the ‘why’.

Even as our business has grown, the Jayva name still speaks volumes about our company’s roots being in family - not only our own families but the Jayva family. We’re a community, along with our clients, associates and business partners.
